Mike Sutherland

Mike Sutherland is Senior Vice President, Offshore Middle East for McDermott.
 
Mike has more than 30 years of diversified experience in managing all aspects of offshore project execution, including engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of jackets and topsides, floating production and storage units and installation of pipelines, cables and umbilical installation.
 
Mike joined McDermott in Dubai, UAE in 2005 as a Project Manager working predominantly on Saudi Aramco Projects and also spent 2.5 years as Senior Director of the Jebel Ali fabrication yard. In 2014, he joined Petrofac as Project Director on an offshore HVDC wind farm project for TenneT. He returned in 2016 as Senior Project Director on Saudi Aramco projects and was promoted to his current role in 2022.
 
Prior to joining McDermott, Mike worked for KBR for 20 years on various offshore projects in the North Sea, Canada and Brazil.
 
Mike holds a diploma in mechanical engineering. He is a graduate of Insead University’s Leadership Development program.
